PHILANTHROPIES

Every year SAIL allows our new group of sophomores to select a philanthropy of their choice to support during their time in SAIL. This allows our members to directly contribute to a cause they are passionate about as an organization. The following organizations are our most recent philanthropies.

SAIL's 2021-2022 philanthropy coincided with an organization-wide mental health initiative. Child Mind Institute is dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders by giving them the help they need to thrive. Child Mind Institute was SAIL's philanthropy for the 2021-2022 school year.

Scotty's House Mission is "to provide safety, healing, and justice for children victimized by abuse through professional assessment, counseling, and education in a compassionate and collaborative approach" to children in the Brazos Valley area. Scotty's house was SAIL's philanthropy for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year.

J.J.'s Hello mission is to "prevent youth suicide, promote mental health awareness, and create a message of hope for pre-teens, teens, and young adults in our community." J.J.'s Hello assists schools and community organizations in creating, developing, facilitating, funding, and executing programs, activities, workshops, and other events designed to help educate parents, teachers, children, school administrators, and other members of the community about the causes, signs, and how to prevent youth suicide. J.J.'s Hello was SAIL's philanthropy for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school year.

Living Water International is a faith-based non-profit organization based out of Houston, Texas that helps communities in developing countries to create sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs in response to the global water crisis. It was established in 1990 and currently operates in 21 countries. As of 2013, the organization had completed more than 14,100 water projects which included drilling new water wells, harvesting water, and the rehabilitation of non-working wells to achieve it's goal. SAIL is glad to have helped this organization as our philanthropy for the 2016-2017 school year.
