RETREATS
Retreats are a huge part of SAIL! They give our sophomores time to have fun, bond, and work on leadership skills. There are three retreats during a sophomore's time in SAIL: one in the fall semester when our sophomores first get into SAIL, one at the beginning of the spring semester, and one at the end of the spring semester. We also have committee retreats and crew retreats throughout the year to strengthen relationships between all members of SAIL!
SAILsgiving
The Monday night before Thanksgiving, SAIL comes together to have a potluck dinner and celebrate this holiday as a "family." The Style committee facilitates this event and every sophomore brings their favorite Thanksgiving food item to share with the organization. It is the perfect time to reflect on the fall semester of SAIL before finals start and everyone leaves for winter break.
Slolympics
SLOlympics is an exciting fall event hosted by the Strive Committee, where Sophomore Leadership Organizations (SLOs) come together for a day of friendly competition! Teams from each SLO will face off in a series of fun challenges, all vying for points and the coveted SLOlympics trophy. It's a fantastic opportunity to build camaraderie, show team spirit, and connect with members of other SLOs.
Craws on Deck
Craws on Deck is SAIL's newly established annual crawfish boil and biggest service event of the year! This past year, our sailors were able to raise money for the Village Program, located in Bryan, through raffle and ticket sales! This past year Craws on Deck consisted of delicious crawfish cooked by our very on SAILors, a dunk tank, two live bands, and a raffle including prizes such as a lifetime Whataburger gift card and a David Yurman bracelet.
CAR WASH
Car Wash is SAIL's major fundraising event! Held in the fall semester, our sophomores come together to sell tickets around campus for people to get their car washed by SAIL. Sync designs the tickets, posters, and reserves Sevick's for this fundraiser. Car wash is always a blast and it is one of our favorite SAIL traditions! FAMILY WEEKEND
The weekend of Texas A&M's Family Weekend, SAIL holds a Family Weekend event that allows our sophomores to introduce their parents and families to their SAIL friends and show them what they have been working on during their time in SAIL. This event is coordinated by the Style committee and includes the chance to buy SAIL apparel for your parents as well as snacks and plenty of photo opportunities.
FORMAL
Formal is the last SAIL event of the year and the Social committee works all spring to make it amazing! It is an event where everyone is able to have fun, dress up, and celebrate their time in SAIL with friends.
